Next Version TubeStatus Screen Shot Leaked!

Since Apple product leaks (or are they?) are all the rage right now here’s a screen shot of the next version of TubeStatus. Key features:

- Line re-ordering
- Overground & rail messages

For the technically minded, there will also be a number of back end changes, I am moving it all to a dedicated server!  Adopting memcache for improved speed and cache management. The php script has been condensed into a single page and will be using cURL. The iPhone application itself has also had a few under the hood tweaks (yeah I found some bugs) and at this stage I plan to use SQLite to hold users line ordering changes and possibly remember prior updates.

    would it be possible to add an options menu to display certain national rail status updates in their own section, for example one could check the National Express East Anglia box and get all the tube lines a National Express East Anglia thing at the bottom.

    Can’t wait :D . Do you know when it will be out?

    Sorry, I don’t have a release date as yet. I been side tracked with a number of other back ground tasks, namely fixing up the TfL statuses :-}

    hi chrisp, rail really deserves a whole application to itself, have you checked out myRail Lite in the iTunes store?

  5. mtcooper says:

    Love the app, great job! It would be fantastic if you add a pinch zoomable tube map in it aswell?

  6. Malcolm Barclay says:

    @mtcooper, a map is coming in TubeDeluxe (currently waiting approval by apple), that has a map; it has a set size & doesn’t pinch or zoom at the moment (trade off between speed and size etc). However very legible. Zooming, scaling, rotating is planed in the next version of Deluxe.

    The line reordering version of TubeStatus has been submitted for Apple approval. It also includes the saving of previously fetched statuses, minor speed enhancements and an alert if latest statuses can not be retrieved. Should be available in 1-2 weeks.
