Version 5.1 of Tube Deluxe has been submitted for approval, the most notable new feature is the ability to get alternative journey plans. By default this is switched off, so you will need to enable it from the main Plan screen.You will not always get alternative(s), even if a logical one is possible. If you absolutely can’t live without an alternative, you need to start turning lines off in order to influence the algorithm. Generally, plans with more interchanges will generate more alternatives.

Based on user feedback, many journey plans have also been improved upon.
I was a bit surprised by this option.
Tower Hill to Hammersmith with district line disabled gave a black hole of a route in the past. Now the alternative it picks is via dlr, jubilee and picadilly, which while ostensibly scenic is missing the obvious circle line via Liverpool st. Option on the new ‘q’ branch.
Incidentally you can still get that black hole route by disabling district.

hi faye, can you send me details of the route in question using the ‘suggest better plan’ action from the itinerary screen? i can then take a look at it.
in a very few cases there will be better alternatives (that aren’t suggested), it comes down to processing time, i can provide more alternatives but it means a longer wait. i figured if one was sensitive to this you can start disabling lines and it will effect the alternatives.
