Hi. I'm a little confused by this post. They obviously haven't literally duplicated your icon, and if I were to create an icon for a tube application I might just immediately think of choosing an enlarged part of the globally-recognised-and-iconic tube map for it, which seems to be what they did. They might even have licensed the image!

Are you upset that they copied the style of your icon by using the same inspiration?

Apologies to appear so dumb, but it's really unclear to me what's been stolen here, from whom, and therefore why you're upset.

I reported it. I wouldn't believe that Apple would permit this. I'm not even certain whether this is legal, and that's something you may want to look into.
If this is true, then it may be that the authors could be accused of gaining a financial advantage by deception. This is similar in a way to shill bidding (which has been in the new recently via eBay cracking down). It certainly falls short of honest advertising, and so trading standards may also be able to help.

I just wanted to say, even though your interchange is the opposite way round to TfLs, the station you show is quite clearly embankment, where the bakerloo, northern, district and circle lines cross.

The other allegedly copy icon... where the jesus h is that supposed to be? The central, victoria, circle and district lines crossing??

So, although this has been upsetting for you, at least you can console yourself with that these people must be totally clueless fricktards.

Besos muchos.

Yep, I think the Passing-off claim is pretty clear cut, the specialist & very experienced legal advice I had thinks the same.

Apple will probably do nothing about Presselite's constant gaming of the review system. I have raised it so many times in the past. They only seem to act when it's more widespread, developers have been removed from the store.

I am not sure about mxData, they will probably have to change their icon at some point when they do an update. But I do know that any apps using the TfL logo are no longer accepted.

Ok, so it looks like there are two issues: (1) Using a similar icon to yours and (2) Posting fake reviews

Also, regarding the part about no one being able to use the official TFL logo, how has the application 'Tube Map' by MxData Limited managed to keep it in their app icon. Do they have a special deal with TfL?

I really enjoyed this post, and after witnessing the frustrations firsthand of Android I can relate to it. My wife just bought a Samsung Galaxy S after debating between that and an iPhone 4, but she was sold by the bigger screen and the Swype facility amongst other things on the Samsung (and the phone was free!). Whilst I won't deny its a great phone with a fantastic screen, she seems to have so much trouble trying to find apps - your comment about knowing where to go to get them is very true! - and Android 2.1 does seem quite buggy. At the end of the day, the majority of people will want something that is easy to use, and whilst Apple may be dictating to consumers what they can/cant do with the phone and content, at least they are easy to use and easy to find and download great apps. Sadly it seems that Android has a long way to go to get to this stage. I think that her experience has made up my mind for me.... I am off to get an iPhone in the week... and then of course purchase Tube Deluxe as my first app :-)
